7th.Nov.2009 05:49 am - Day 7 Check In

14398 / 50000 words. 29% done!

I'm exhausted. Going to bed. Long day on little sleep doesn't make for good writing on Saturday, but I'm determined to crank out some more words after I get all my crap done for the day.
7th.Nov.2009 04:50 am - Fic by Description
New to fic find communities...Not sure if this is against the policies - please tell me if it is.

I'm trying to refind the fics I used to follow, as my harddrive fried several months back. It was a fairly extensive list, so I'm just trying to find them as I recall details.

The one that most recently came to mind was listed as HP/SS but they weren't in a relationship yet - I don't think. Harry was in detention with Umbridge and the blood quill. He cast some sort of cry for help to Magic, and was answered. In the first couple chapters it's revealed that he's Draco Malfoy's twin. Snape figures it out due to a pair of cat-like animals who attached to Harry, but that Snape knows only attach themselves to twins - and there was only one pair of twins that it could be. These cats later turn out to be Magic's envoys/ambassadors. One of them was named Mischief I think. Turns out the Potters are alive, and the actual Harry Potter was a spoilt brat and that Dumbledore had arranged for the kidnapping of one of the Malfoy twins. The cats call all those who've wronged he-who-was-Harry-Potter, including Black, Lupin, Pettigrew, Lily and James, Riddle, and Dumbledore. The punishments included deaging for James and Black I think. I know that Riddle was given some sort of bracelet that had gems or something. For each one he would live a day, for each kind act he'd gain a gem, but for each of his harmful acts he would lose 7 of them...There was some sort of comment made about irony and his living forever.

Those are all the details I remember. I'm fairly sure it's a ff.net fic...All help is greatly appreciated.

During photography class, we were shown Richard Billingham's photos and I found this:

Has this ever been macro'd?

7th.Nov.2009 03:22 am - Request
Hey community! I promised some of my non-LOLcat-familiar friends that I would teach them about the LOLcats that started it all... but going through my archives, I realized I'm missing some important ones, such as "I are Serious cat" and "Happycat has run out of happy."

Anyone got these formative cat macros handy? Or any other important old cat macros that may come in handy?

For legal purposes, I will show some of my favorite macros that always make me laugh:

Who DOESN'T love 'Sup Fruits Cat?

Thanks for your help!

Any fics goods fics you can recommend where Harry wakes up in an Alternate Universe or the future and finds his other self was in some kind of relationship with Snape? This relationship can range from just about anything.

Thank you in advance!

7th.Nov.2009 12:38 am - Blackmail?
Hey, everyone :) I was wondering if anyone had any fic recs that deal with blackmail---either by Snape or by Harry against the other. I've yet to read this in a Snarry fic, but I'm interested to see how it would play out as a plot point.

Thanks and I hope to hear from you all soon :3

6th.Nov.2009 10:38 pm - Fetish Fridays gets Horny

For those of you who didn't catch it when I mentioned it on Halloween, we're continuing last month's theme this month, since I was a slug and didn't post a lot of what I had planned for October.  That means we're still working on Fantasy, Scifi and Horror in November, so I get to use my Horns and Tails pictures today for Fetish Fridays.  That's right, we've got tons of Horny Devils for you, and Satyrs, and Demons, and Minotaurs and...  I think you can get the idea.

As always, you can click on the picture to see them full-sized on my scrapbook.  For those of you that are members, the NC17 rated post will be coming up next.

Enjoy!

6th.Nov.2009 08:51 pm - Brain dead, and CSA
Okay, I'm in not too bad of shape with this assignment, I guess, unless I've woefully misinterpreted what it's supposed to do. The instructions were... terse. But my brain is seriously shutting down, so I'm going to quit working on it for tonight and come back in the morning.

CSA this week included: daikon, red radishes, turnips, a few little carrots, garlic, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, arugula, turnip greens (in addition to those on the turnips), dandelion greens, and purple beans. [Still around from previous weeks: cherry tomatoes, radishes, daikon, turnips, acorn squash, butternut squash, beets.] Turnip puree again, probably; cook some of the red radishes for SO; plain steamed beans; lettuce salad. I might turn the other greens into a tart (don't have that recipe online yet). I also have a recipe for shrimp with cherry tomatoes and feta (also not online) and have a pound of frozen shrimp, so maybe that (using last week's tomatoes, which are now about ripe).

Other than that... Taught classes. Got prep done for Monday for both classes. Had a meeting. Dealt with work email. Dictated about 800 words each on two different fics; one for a fest, the other DD. Played some with Juno.

Now waiting for SO to get home. He'd indicated he was going to try to get home early tonight, but that didn't happen; he decided he really needed to work out since he hadn't all week. Okay, fair enough, and I worked on the assignment meantime. But if he doesn't get back soon, we probably can't have our Friday night date since restaurants around here close pretty dang early even on weekends. So we'll see. There are some leftovers if we end up not doing anything tonight.

Stating the Obvious
6th.Nov.2009 08:37 pm - EKP IS BACK
After a week and a half of pulling our hair out and shaking angry fists towards Luxembourg, we finally got back to what we should've been doing all along -- promoting this bloody Show! Yes, free publicity, RTL, why do you make this so hard?

The situation's not ideal by any means. Instead of capturing clips directly from the video stream like we used to, now we're stuck spending literally hours on screencaptures. It's totally draining -- the RTL player is, quite frankly, crap. Everytime it stalls, I have to rebuffer and restart the recording. On about a third of the files the soundtrack comes out wonky. And even at its best, the quality is jerky because it is, after all, a string of screencaps. THANK GOD THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN BEFORE REUNION!

Still! We posted episode* and we're getting comments again (they are like a drug, I tell you!) and I'm going to sit here and drink wine and spam like whoa. And if I have enough wine, I just might make a defiant "you can't take the Show sky from me" vid.

Hope you're all ready for an awesome weekend!

* This episode was nabbed before we left for Germany; it's not representative of the new stuff we're getting. You'll know what I mean when you see those in a few days. Boy, will you know what I mean.
