Let Freedom Ring

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

But not only that:

Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.

From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:

Types of Stories I like:

Hurt/Comfort: Anything that involves rescuing Harry from Dursley/Death Eater abuse. Bonus points if Harry's emotionally scarred from the ordeal and they have to help him feel safe/confident again. I can pretty much read them all, even graphical horrific accounts of rape and child abuse. I won't write it but I can read it. If there are feel-good/sad crying moments in them, even better. Emotionally charged stories are great.

Dumbledore Is Evil!: If Harry's rebelling and finding out Dumbledore lied to him about 99.9% of his life, more's the better.

Harry Re-sorted Slytherin: Goes right along with the item below this. Bonus points if he and Draco/Severus start getting along.

Ron/Hermione/Gryffindor Bashing: I like seeing them get knocked off their high horse every now and then.

Happy endings: are a must!

Death fics: I don't care who you kill (especially if it's Ginny) as long as it's none of my main pairings.

Romance: Junkie here! The more romantice the better.

Magical creature fics: Bring em on! I love the ones where Harry's comes into some kind of MC Inheritence and rebels against Dumbledore.

Mpreg: What's not to like about it? A pregnant main character is awesome.

Kinks: The only thing I won't read is necrophilia. 'Nuff sed.

In less than 8 hours...I will be heading to the polls to vote for Obama.

This election will probably be the most watched event since the Florida recount in the last election.

I for one will be watching the news on and off while I'm at work tomorrow.

The Challenge: Turn any one chapter of any of your fics into a behind-the-scenes documentary.

Rules:

1. If it's a multi-chapter, only use one chapter.
2. One-shots are eligible.
3. You can make it as porny or crackish as you want. It could even have a scene of Severus [or any of your favorite fandom characters] looking at the director and saying something asinine like "What's my motivation, again?" Maybe even a blooper or two. :)
4. Word length has no meaning.
5. There is no time limit. This is simply for fun and in your own time.

I'd love to see the results when you're done! Masterlist will be added to the asylum by pairing(s) as the stories come in. Comment here or at this post with a link to your fic.

I don't know if anyone has heard about the goings on at AdultFanfiction.net, but suffice it to say...I've removed my fics from that site. I cannot, in good conscience, associate myself with a site that has so little respect for it's mods and members who help the site stay on its feet.

There's a note in my AFF profile (since I'm unsure how to completely delete my account) directing readers to my profile at HPFandom.net.

EDIT: After reading this thread in the forums, I think I made the right decision in removing my stories from AFF.
